uEye Camera Manual Version 4.92
The installation of the IDS Software Suite on Linux systems is described in the Readme.txt file contained in the uEye driver download for Linux. Alternatively, you can download the Readme.txt file on the driver download site.
Installing on Debian- or Ubuntu-based systems
For image saving or using the GUI programs on Debian- or Ubuntu-based systems, you must install the following packages for example by using apt-get:
•libqt5gui5
•libqt5network5
•libjpeg62
•libpng16-16
Saving images as JPEG or PNG
The following library must be installed if you want to save images as JPEGs or use the special JPEG mode of the USB uEye XS:
•libjpeg.so.62
Alternatively, you can use the version libjpeg.so.8.
The following library must be installed if you want to save images as PNGs:
•libpng16.so.16
GUI programs
The following libraries must be installed if you want to use the programs uEye Demo or IDS Camera Manager:
•libQt5Gui.so.5
•libQt5Xml.so.5
•libQt5Sql.so.5
•libQt5Network.so.5
•libQt5Core.so.5
Multi-camera system with USB cameras
The buffer memory's default value of the USB file system is often too low for a multi-camera system with USB cameras. Increase the memory value to avoid transfer losses. To adjust the memory value, you must change the "usbfs_memory_mb“ parameter with root privileges:
Example: Increase the "usbfs_memory_mb" parameter to 256 MB:
echo 'new size' > /sys/module/usbcore/parameters/usbfs_memory_mb
echo 256 > /sys/module/usbcore/parameters/usbfs_memory_mb
